Accreditation

ATESL offers an accreditation service for its members. A member who is approved for accreditation receives a membership card with an accreditation number that signifies that his or her professional training and experience have been recognized and acknowledged by our professional body.

  • A person must be a current member of ATESL to apply for and to maintain accreditation status. If you are not currently a member, please  complete the membership form before requesting accreditation. You may submit both together.
  • The fee for applying for accreditation is $50 plus GST ($2.50).
  • The Accreditation Committee meets twice a year. The deadlines for application are the first of May and the first of December. Decisions are usually made within eight weeks of the deadlines.
  • There are three options for applying for accreditation: A, D, and Interim.
  • The applicant must fill out the accreditation form, submit the required documentation concerning training and experience, and the accreditation application fee.

New Survey Report added August 2010:

ATESL asked for input on its accreditation policy and procedure and this Excel file provides a summary of that information. Further steps are being discussed at the Board level and if you have any further comments or concerns you would like to address to the Board, please do so through our administrative email: atesl.admin AT shaw.ca
