An exciting new resource for ESL teachers and learners in Alberta was recently launched by CBC Edmonton and Alberta Employment and Immigration.
The web project utilizes CBC Edmonton radio news and feature stories as tools for Albertans learning English.
The website resources are made up of two types of audio stories, each supported by ESL learning materials.

ATESL has recently embarked on a comprehensive process to renew and revitalize its Best Practices document.

- ATESL Best Practices Workshop (Calgary)

ATESL is rolling out its new “Best Practices for Adult ESL and LINC Programming in Alberta” document. During this workshop you will be oriented to the document and learn about how it came to be. You will also have the opportunity to explore ways of using the document as a reference tool and as a catalyst for reflective practice and collaboration. Each participant will receive a copy of ATESL’s “Best Practices for Adult ESL and LINC Programming in Alberta.” The workshop will be conducted by Sara Gnida, an ESL instructor and curriculum developer with over 20 years of experience in the field of ESL.(posted: April 23, 2010)
