Edmonton Mini Conference - Teach and Inspire: Practice Generated Knowledge

With ATESL’s 40th Anniversary conference being held in Calgary on October 18 & 19 this year, the Edmonton Chapter is excited to announce our own mini conference this spring. The mini conference will be held on Saturday, May 25th, with the theme being Teach and Inspire: Practice Generated Knowledge.
Location: Sacred Heart - 9624 108 Ave, Edmonton
Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
The ATESL Edmonton Chapter is searching for presenters who can share knowledge acquired through practice in the classroom. We are looking for speakers interested in 90 minute workshops/sessions, lightning talks or tech talks.
Deadline for submissions: April 26th, 2019
Notice of acceptance of presentation will be sent via email by May 1st, 2019.
Presenters must register by May 10th, 2019 for the presentation to be included.
Types of Presentations:
- Presentation (90 minutes):
Features a leader or leaders working with a group to help them solve a problem or develop a specific teaching technique.
- Lightning Talk Session (6 minutes)
Each presenter will have 6 minutes to talk about their topic of choice; presentations are scheduled one after the other. All kinds of topics within the theme of the conference are welcome.
- Tech Talk Session (6 minutes)
Set up station style, the tech talk sessions demonstrate technology that can be used within the classroom – for teachers and/or students.
Cost to attend: $25 presenters, $45 ATESL Members, $60 Non-ATESL Members.
Your registration includes breakfast (coffee/tea and pastries), a boxed lunch, a certificate of participation and six different sessions to choose from.
Online registration will open at the end of April.
