Communication Skills Instructor

CCI-LEX is looking for a part-time afternoon instructor to teach on-site at our location in downtown Edmonton.  All candidates must be eligible for TESL Canada Level One Certification.   

Position Details
Communication Skills Instructor
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1:00pm-3:30pm
Starting as soon as possible, until May 5.  Possibility of extension.
Class level pending, anticipate CLB 4+ level students.

Communication Skills classes are designed to enhance speaking and listening skills through participation in practical, student-centered, and productive learning activities.  They also support development of vocabulary knowledge and usage, review and reinforce level appropriate grammar and pronunciation, as well as create cultural connections.

Qualifications

• Experienced TESL instructor with TESL Canada Professional Standard Level One Certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience teaching conversational English, communications strategies, and local and current expressions & idioms to adults an asset.
• Proven lesson planning and course development skills.
• Learner-centered approach, flexible and responsive to student needs.
