LINC Facilitator

Columbia College is looking for an experienced LINC facilitator who is able to teach higher level CLB classes using a hybrid model of delivery; i.e. on line and on site classes.


Continuous professional development to update knowledge of current practices and resources in the field, training in PBLA and experience with digital portfolios, experience with computer programs and EAL resources are important requirements for this position.


LINC instructors are responsible to obtain appropriate and authentic materials to teach adult newcomers using task-based activities to assist them in achieving their settlement goals. Additional responsibilities include assessing the needs and goals of students; provide appropriate feedback and maintain a portfolio record of their progress based on Canadian Language Benchmarks.


LINC Facilitators at Columbia College are required to have completed a four-year degree in education or a relevant field. Their area of specialized education is supplemented by certificates and diplomas in adult education/ESL. 

Applicants need to have minimum 3 years of experience teaching LINC to adults and an understanding of their challenges as well as cross-cultural experience and ability to relate to other cultures.
