POST DIPLOMA TESL CERTIFICATE - PROGRAM FOUNDER FACULTY OF FOUNDATIONAL, CAREER AND INTERCULTURAL STUDIES

The Post Diploma TESL Certificate program is a new credit program under development at NorQuest College. This new certificate program is an online program with outcomes that align with TESL Standard Two. This program is scheduled to launch in January 2019. This program includes courses that cover the theory and practice of teaching adult ESL learners, with an emphasis on putting theory and research into practice. It includes coursework and a practicum.

NorQuest College invites applications for a Full Time Program Founder position in the dynamic and fast-paced TESL program. The successful candidate will have experience in program design and proposal writing, as well as extensive experience with overseeing and developing curriculum; program set up, and assisting to launch this new program. You are a team player and leader that brings inclusivity and positivity to the workplace.

This is a unique opportunity as we are able to provide the following options of employment for the right candidate:

 A twelve month full time term for program development

 A twelve month full time secondment for program development (we will work with your employer on the arrangements of secondment)

 A permanent full time role as faculty for the program development and subsequent teaching and leadership within the program

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Design the TESL program from research already completed to date

 Write program proposal

 Develop the curriculum

- Lead online course development

- Prepare curriculum for submission

 Facilitate Program Implementation

- Schedule courses

- Articulate processes for recognition of prior courses

- Participate in marketing and recruitment plan

- Set faculty work assignments and qualifications

- Create Strategic partnerships

 Launch new program

- Plan the launch event

- Participate in staffing

QUALIFICATIONS:  TESL qualifications, a university degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in language teaching; master’s degree preferred  Teaching experience in a post-secondary environment  Experience in delivering program components to diverse student populations  Excellent leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills  Ability to work independently and innovatively within a framework of accountability  Superior organization, collaboration, conflict resolution, critical thinking, problem solving, time management and facilitation skills required  Excellent oral and written communication skills  Working knowledge of online learning management systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABIILITIES:

 Developing online course materials

 Instructing and evaluating educators

 Bringing workforce relevancy into the program SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience.
