Focus on Literacy

Instructors strive to tailor teaching to the needs of individual learners. What are some specific strategies and practical suggestions for teaching foundations or literacy level classes?

Three speakers - Emily Albertsen, Val Baggaley, and Judi Morris - will present their successes. Emily will talk about differentiating learning with focused reading and dialogue journals. Val and Judi will share their tried-and-true ESL literacy teaching techniques.

A show and share will follow their presentations and participants are invited to contribute their own best practices regarding teaching literacy.

Also at this meeting we will be drawing for free registration to the provincial ATESL conference in Edmonton in October. You must be present to win and entries are based on number of meetings attended in 2018.
