Welcome back ATESL members. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break. We are starting off 2019 with a PD session on Qigong. We’re sure January will be a busy month for all as we settle back into routine. This presentation will give you a chance to recharge and refresh for the upcoming year.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese modality that uses the movement of energy to balance and align the body, mind, and spirit for healing and maintaining optimal health. Many of our students and staff are experiencing varying levels of stress on a daily basis. When anyone is living with constant stress for extended periods of time their vital energy field is diminished (this has been proven by modern science). A person living with constant stress has all their energy directed outward protecting them from real or imagined external threats, leaving very little energy to protect them from internal threats (illness and disease). Eventually, this leads to a dysfunction of the immune system.
In this short presentation, you will be given a brief introduction to the principles of Spring Forest Qigong. Carolynne will share with you specific movements and energy points that can be used to destress, strengthen the immune system, help clear brain fog, and generally increase energy levels. She will also, take you through a full Qigong practice session.
Carolynne Melnyk, B.Ed, MA, is an educator, world traveller, Certified Spring Forest Qigong Trainer and Certified Practice Group Leader, SFQ Level 3 healer, Qi-ssage practitioner and inspirational speaker devoted to sharing the ancient wisdom of Qigong, so that others may reclaim their natural health and well-being from the inside out. Carolynne is the creator of Living Life in Joy, where she offers a variety of Qigong Classes, Personalized Wellness Packages, Workshops and Healing Retreats.
