Southern AB: Grammar Teaching – Resources and Best Practices Community of Practitioners Sharing Session

The ESL profession is filled with talented, dedicated individuals who have developed pedagogical expertise by working with diverse second language learning populations. Many ESL educators have experience working in international settings and have contributed to curriculum development at their institutions. The cumulative expertise of the ESL teaching community is an invaluable resource to support the professional growth of peers in the field. As a result, the first ATESL professional development event for the 2018-2019 academic year will be a community of practitioners sharing session – local ESL educators and administrators will share best practices, activities, resources, or great ideas to promote discussion and contemplation with a focus on grammar teaching.

Please come and join in the event as a participant or presenter. We already have several educators who have agreed to provide a brief (5 – 10 minute) talk about the manner in which they attend to grammar in the language classroom, but we are still looking for additional teachers to share a best practice, activity, resource, etc. If you are interested in sharing, please contact Greg Ogilvie (gogilvie@atesl.ca).
