Learning English with CBC

Check out the new monthly lessons posted on the Edmonton and Calgary Learning English with CBC websites:

Edmonton – Alberta Sheriffs: In this audio, you will hear CBC journalist Adrienne Lamb on the job with four Alberta Sheriffs, learning about their work in tracking people with outstanding warrants.

Calgary – Best before dates: In this audio, you will hear CBC journalist Karen Moxley interviewing a consumer, a scientist and a food producer about best before dates and safe food consumption.

These audios are accompanied by learning plans designed for learners who are at a CLB 6+ language proficiency level. All materials are available for copying and educational use.

Every week weekly newscasts are uploaded with learning plans for learners who are at a CLB 4 language proficiency level. These newscasts contain stories about Alberta and Canada as well as a focus on issues important in Edmonton and Calgary.
