ATESL 2024 Conference
We are delighted to introduce ourselves as your Conference Managers for the upcoming ATESL Conference 2024 - Building Bridges: Evolve, Adapt, and Thrive. It is with great pleasure that we embark on this journey together to deliver a successful and memorable virtual event on October 18 & 19.
Allow us to introduce ourselves:
- Indira Cevallos Novillo: Indira is a passionate member of the LINC community. In her professional role, she provides Faculty Support and Training to LINC instructors. She also is a member of the ATESL Executive Board (ATESL Edmonton Co-Chair), and was a conference manager for ATESL’s first virtual conference in 2020. Her passions for learning include Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) & student engagement.
- Doug Vantour: Doug is ATESL’s Past President, and is also a passionate member of the LINC community with a high interest in digital learning. Doug has been involved in all of the virtual conferences since the inaugural virtual ATESL Conference 2020. He is an advocate for continuing education, the rights for cultural identity, and respect for all.
With our combined experience and dedication to excellence, we are committed to ensuring that every aspect of the conference is executed with precision and professionalism.
As we prepare for the event, we recognize the importance of building a strong team of volunteers to support various committees. We are reaching out to invite individuals who share our passion for excellence to join us in the following capacities:
- Program Scheduling & Communications Committee: Assisting in selecting, contacting, and communicating with invited and keynote speakers.
- Program Review Presentations Proposals Committee: Develop and use a rubric to evaluate proposals for presenters.
- Publishers/Exhibitors Committee: Communicate with potential sponsors and arrange for advertising in collaboration with the Social Media Manager.
- Publicity/Social Media Committee: Draft and schedule social media posts for deadlines, giveaways, and events.
- Donations & Hospitality Committee: Securing door prize donations, collaborating with the social media committee for contests/giveaways, and mailing prizes to winners..
- Tech Support/Moderator Committee: Moderating sessions during the conference, troubleshooting, participating in run throughs, and assisting with audio/video session support as needed.
If you possess the skills, experience, and enthusiasm to contribute to any of these committees, we invite you to express your interest by responding to this email. Your involvement will be instrumental in the success of the conference.
