Let’s Talk About Learning Upgrade for Literacy
Nov 17, 2022
Please join us on Thursday, November 17th at 4PM (MST) to talk about Learning Upgrade for literacy by Roberta Powers. She is an experienced LINC teacher and Educational Consultant for New Readers Press. Roberta will demo a cool, campy digital platform called Learning Upgrade that is good for face-to-face or independent learning. Mostly though, she will share how to use music, humour, drama and/or games in the classroom.
Discussion topics will be:
1) What combinations of fun, picturesque digital/ electronic and/or print materials have you tried for your face to face or hybrid learning, and how have those worked with your level(s)?
2)How do you employ phonics/ letter sound and spelling practice in productive and/or receptive tasks while making it fun and meaningful?
3) How do you meet the needs of all your learner's styles: visual, auditory and kinaesthetic?
4) In what ways can a corny or campy approach to teaching and learning be a positive and successful experience?
Please email DonnaClarke@Immigrant-Education.ca for the ZOOM link to this session.
