Let’s Talk About Music and Rhythm in the EAL Literacy Classroom

Apr 18, 2024

LetsTalkMusic

Please join us and guest host Amber Epp on Thursday, April 18th at 4pm (MST).

There are many advantages to using music as a learning tool in EAL literacy classrooms. In this session we will explore some of the benefits of using music and rhythm with our learners. Although Amber is a talented musician, no musical training is necessary to be able to engage your learners using music to build their literacy skills.

Topics for discussion will include:

  1. How do you use music or rhythm with your students?
  2. What would you like to try in your classroom in terms of music?
  3. If you were to create your own song or rhythm to help students, what would be important to include?
  4. Any actual songs / videos to share with the group? Please email JeremyWilson@Immigrant-Education.ca for the ZOOM link to this session.
