Please join us on Thursday, October 20th from 4:00-5:00 PM (MST) to talk about strategies for creating and using routines with literacy learners. Heather Imorde will give a short presentation and facilitate a discussion on this topic.

Discussion topics will be:

• What routines do you use to begin or end your class?
• How do these routines build a caring classroom community? Consistency is key!
• What are ways you approach learning activities that allow your students to focus on the tasks at hand? (Procedures for handing out papers, setting expectations for partner work, agenda for the day, etc.)
• What if routines stop working? How do you redirect and remind students, review and readjust expectations and activities?
