Teaching Phonetics and Phoneme Awareness to Language and Literacy Learners

In this session, we will delve into the role of phonetics and phoneme awareness in language and literacy development. By equipping learners with the ability to decipher and manipulate individual sounds, we empower them with a strong foundation for successful communication. Join us as we explore and share effective strategies and techniques that educators can employ to teach these skills.

• What methods and activities do you currently use to teach phonetics and phoneme awareness to language and literacy learners? How have you found these approaches tlo be effective, and what challenges, if any, have you encountered while implementing them?
• How do you balance promoting fluency and ensuring accuracy when assessing students' progress when it comes to sound and speech production?
• As educators, what types of resources or materials would you find most beneficial in supporting your teaching of phonetics and phoneme awareness? Are there specific tools, technologies, or professional development opportunities that you believe would enhance your ability to effectively teach these skills?
