Topic: What, Why, and How to Implement Various Technology Tools to Increase Learner Motivation and Engagement

Grounded in research and practice, presenter HeeJae Chung will explore various technology tools to increase learner motivation and engagement in all modes of teaching—face-to-face, hybrid, and online. She will share examples and practical tips on what, why, and how to implement the tools in a foreign language learning classroom.

HeeJae Chung holds an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a B.F.A. in Production Design. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Adult, Professional, and Community Education at Texas State University, where she works as a doctoral research assistant. Her professional interests include adult learning, English language-culture teaching, and virtual learning experience design. She is particularly interested in the design and implementation of creative strategies and resources to motivate and stimulate learning among international adult learners.
