Welcome to the 2025 Conference!

We are thrilled to introduce ourselves as your Conference Managers for this year’s ATESL Conference 2025 - Teaching Forward: Reimagine, Connect, Empower.

In a changing technological world, we recognize the importance of reimagining the ways we teach, especially in which people become increasingly disconnected. We also recognize the challenges and stresses we and our learners face, those which affect our mental health and our livelihood. We hope this virtual conference will provide opportunities to learn, grow and connect on October 17 & 18.

Reyhaneh is a LINC instructor and PBLA lead at the Centre for Newcomers, Calgary. She has an MA in English Language Teaching. She has over 30 years experience teaching English to diverse groups of language learners at different schools and universities.

Desiree is a curriculum developer and language assessor in the EAL community. She has a passion for language assessment as well as life-long learning and professional development. She was the Donations and Hospitality Committee Chair for the 2023 ATESL Conference.
