In this session Fiona from CIWA will explore the importance of developing fine motor skills for adult literacy learners and those with diverse abilities. She will show us some practical strategies to enhance these skills in the classroom and promote dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and finger strength.

Topics for discussion will include:

Have you noticed a connection between fine motor skills and language learning in your class?

Have you had students who needed support to develop fine motor skills? How did you help them?

Is it important to teach penmanship? Why or why not?
