In this session, Donna and Jeremy from the Literacy Centre of Expertise at TIES will explore the what, why, and how of using flashcards in the literacy classroom. They will showcase a variety of engaging paper and digital flashcard activities, designed to progress from receptive to productive skill development. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their favorite flashcard activities and strategies.

Topics for discussion will include:

• When should text be introduce to vocabulary picture flashcards?
• What are ways to modify some activities you saw today?
• How could you use flashcards with higher level learners?
