This presentation will explore a number of topics: What do opinion polls and other sources tell us about the settlement and integration success of newcomers to Canada? What are some of the ongoing challenges that immigrants and refugees face? What do we need to know about immigration issues in the media that are likely to become federal election debate topics in 2019?

Marian Rossiter is Professor Emerita in the TESL program in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta, and a longtime refugee co-sponsor.
