ESL/EAL Instructor, Part-time Evenings & Casual Subbing Positions

CCI-LEX requires part-time and casual ESL instructors for our adult English language program in downtown Edmonton (in-person).

We are currently looking to hire 2 part-time evening instructors (6hrs/week) in our General ESL/EAL evening program for our Beginner class, Mon/Wed, 6p-9p and our Advanced class, Tues/Thurs, 6p-9p. We are looking to fill these positions as quickly as possible. We are also looking for subs for all classes, days, and times.

CCI-LEX offers General ESL classes for adult learners from Beginner to Advanced levels (Pre-Benchmark to CLB 7), as well as classes for Communication Skills, Writing Skills and workplace language.  Classes are offered in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, select and prepare instructional materials that will support and enhance students' communicative abilities following a general curriculum framework
• Present a variety of instructional methods and strategies, appropriate to adult learners and their level of English
• Assess the needs, objectives and progress of students and provide appropriate feedback regarding their strengths, opportunities and overall progress as needed
• Promote cooperation, tolerance and active participation in class
• Maintain appropriate records of class materials, lesson plans, students’ attendance, etc.
• Work as a member of a team of teachers and maintain clear communication with administrative team
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• TESL Canada Professional Standard Level One Certification or eligibility for certification
• Recognized post-secondary education (Bachelor's Degree or higher) in Education, Linguistics or a related field
• Minimum 1 year experience teaching ESL/EAL to adult learners
