Call for ATESL Members' Submissions - Indigenous Resources for the ESL Classroom

Dear ATESL Members,

This past year the Advocacy Committee has been focussed on responding to members’ requests for more teaching materials and professional development around Indigenous topics and resources for the ESL/ LINC classroom. In addition to workshops and sharing of the excellent materials in the ATESL Best Practices Indigenization section, we want to highlight the great work that is already being done in your classrooms.

We would like to announce a call for materials related to incorporating Indigenous themes for LINC/ ESL classrooms. Do you have classroom activities, tasks, assessments or other resources with Indigenous themes to share with your colleagues?

All submitted materials will be reviewed using the ATESL Indigenization Best Practices framework. The selected submissions will be featured on the Tutela.ca platform for the broader TESL community to access and utilize. Authors of the shared materials will receive a gift card from ATESL as a token of our appreciation for their contributions.

This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your materials’ development expertise and help fellow LINC/ESL instructors enhance their lessons with Indigenous content. We encourage all ATESL members to submit their materials by June 30th.

To submit your materials and resources for review, please email: advocacy@atesl.ca ; attach the classroom materials and include the following information:

We look forward to reviewing your submissions and sharing the selected materials on Tutela.ca.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

ATESL Advocacy Committee
