Postponed: March 14 - Diversity and Inclusion in the ESL Classroom

Please note that this PD Session has been postponed. We will notify members when it has been rescheduled.

Central Alberta ATESL is proud to host Alex Marshall from NorQuest College on Saturday, March 14 from 9:00-12:00.

Maple Room, CARE. Main floor, 5000 Gaetz ave, Red Deer.

The presentation will take a look at some newly created resources which introduce concepts of diversity and inclusion to the ESL classroom as well as how to implement them. We will discuss how to introduce diverse topics in an ESL classroom in respectful ways and how to and address student/personal concerns if they arise.

Those of us at CARE in Red Deer will remember our brief session with Alex and our desire to spend more time with her. This workshop promises to provide much more detail on the fantastic materials that have been recently created as well as an opportunity to explore how they will work in the classroom.

This workshop is presented in partnership with RDPL Adult Literacy Program. Drinks and snacks will be provided.

Please email central@atesl.ca to register interest in attending, or if you have questions.

Hope to see you there!

Jess
