Byte Into English: Preliminary Computer Skills
This instructor resource includes computer and language activities, giving students with no computer skills the opportunity to learn English while developing basic computer skills. It was written to be used with Microsoft Windows operating system (97) and its accessories. Ten lesson plans, referenced to CLB 2, introduce the following computer skills: opening and closing programs; identifying basic computer parts; using the mouse and desktop; dragging objects, manipulating windows, using the keyboard, opening a window, printing a document, and using the calculator. Each lesson plan includes a language competency that is being developed along with instructions, vocabulary, worksheets, teacher notes, and answer keys.
