CESLM Intercultural Handbook
This Intercultural Handbook is designed to be used in a workshop on Intercultural Communication for Christian volunteers and tutors in church-based not-for-profit programs. The handbook includes an exploration of what culture is and a discussion of cultural values through a series of dichotomies (e.g., individualism vs. collectivism, high context vs. low context, hierarchical vs. egalitarian). Barriers to intercultural communication and culture shock are discussed, along with strategies for effective intercultural communication. An intercultural resource list is provided.
