English Every Day

Your English as a Second Language students will be thoroughly entertained while they learn English from Max and Lucy. The video follows the couple as they experience real-life situations in ten thematic vignettes entitled Grocery Shopping, Post Office, Doctor! Doctor!, Apartment Hunting, An Accident Waiting to Happen, Help Wanted, Exchanges, At the Bank, Speed, and Bus Stop. Shot in Edmonton, the vignettes run between four to seven minutes with a focus on the real language encountered in each situation. The video is targeted at adults who are at the stage one level of Canadian Language Benchmarks. An activity book is available for use with the video. It includes a variety of communicative activities that range in level of ability for each vignette. This set was developed in conjunction with Grant MacEwan University and ACCESS TV.
